Court Approves $2.45 Million Bed Bug Lawsuit
Still Think Bed Bugs Won’t Cost You in the Long Run?
If you’re a property manager of any sorts, you know how difficult it can be to balance a budget, especially if things are tight. However, it is always important to keep the health and safety of your occupants in the highest regard, and that means protecting against bed bugs as well.
Earlier this month, a Polk County judge approved a $2.45 million dollar settlement between a landlord and two downtown Des Moines, Iowa apartment towers. According to the Des Moines Register, Judge Robert Blink approved the settlement between the class-action group and the First Baptist Elderly Housing Foundation and the American Baptist Homes of the Midwest. The lawsuit was originally filed in March of 2010 when residents of Elsi Manson Manor and the Ligutti Tower were seeking money for back rent and lost property due to the bed bug infestation.
